Teen First Dates viewers open-mouthed at conspiracy theorist who believes Earth is flat and aliens built the pyramids
TEEN First Dates viewers have been left open-mouthed by a conspiracy theorist who believes the Earth is flat and aliens built the pyramids.
The Channel 4 series sees 16 to 19-year-old’s head to the famous restaurant in a bid to find young love.
Teen First Dates saw a date called Aliya reveal she thinks the Earth is flat
Her date Luke, 17, was stunned into silence by her theory
During Wednesday’s show, Aliya, 17, – who had appeared on a previous episode – return, hoping to find someone who understood and accepted her views on things.
She explained: “I just want someone to understand that I see the world differently than other people.”
Aliya was introduced to Josh, 17, and over dinner the pair started discussing conspiracy theories such as how Stonehenge was formed.
Aliya told Josh that she thought aliens had been involved and she was convinced they had also created the pyramids in Egypt.
While Josh said he had seen videos about such theories, he didn’t elaborate to say if he fully bought into it.
But undeterred, Aliya told him: “I think that the earth is flat.”
Josh looked stunned as she continued: “Because, when you’re on a plane and you look down, it’s flat, right?”
While Josh didn’t agree, he did concede he could “see where she was coming from”.

Viewers were equally as taken aback, with one writing on Twitter: “She really isn’t letting this flat Earth thing go.”
Another added: “That face on that young man when his date said the earth was flat. One of the best expressions I’ve ever seen but he was very respectful #TeenFirstDates.”
Unfortunately, Aliya didn’t feel like they were a match at the end of the date, despite Josh being keen to see her again.
She explained how she was someone who believed in soulmates and at the beginning of the episode she had said that if she could not see herself marrying a person there was no point in being with them.
Aliya didn’t feel a spark at the end of the date
Teen First Dates airs on Channel 4 and is available on All4.
