The contestants performed twice tonight – a solo dance and their most personal routines yet.

The BMX Olympic silver medallist, who danced to Ben E. King’s Stand By Me, explained that he would be dedicating the routine to his mum Tracy who is battling leukaemia.

He revealed that his Sunday was also his mum’s birthday – meaning the performance would be extra special for him.

Kye impressed the judges with his flawless performance and Oti, Ashley Banjo, Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean all awarded him a nine – securing an impressive 36 points.

After the performance ex-Strictly dancer Oti was unable to hold back her tears as she branded the performance beautiful.

As the tears flowed down her face, Oti was overwhelmed by Kye’s hearbreaking story.

Viewers were also also a blubbering mess tonight, with one writing: “Kye’s performance was stunning, had me in tears. #DancingonIce”

Another posted: “I’m crying over Kye’s routine. #DoI”

“#DancingOnIce Kye’s performance was beautiful, he made his mum proud,” another tweeted.

Kye previously opened up about his mum’s health.

The star wrote on Instagram: “Hi guys, this is my mum Tracey hill she birthed me raised me and looked after me well.

“Right now she is very ill and has been diagnosed with leukaemia I want to ask everyone to pray and have her in your hearts.

“Just one thing I’ll beg for anyone to do is just have my mum in your hearts and prayers, thank you.”
