UK weather forecast LIVE – Brits set to scorch in 29C temperatures with ‘plenty of sunny spells’ expected

Brits look set to scorch in 29C temperatures during what could be one of the hottest springs on record.

Tropical breezes from Spain today are likely to bring a taste of things to come.

In its three-month outlook for councils and businesses, the Met Office said: “The chance of a warm spring is much higher than normal.”

Bookmakers cut odds on April being the hottest on record to 4/5.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “The odds say we’ll roast.”

The Met Office, which considers spring to be the months of March, April and May, said 24C (75F) was expected in weeks, with 29C (84F) due later in the season.

The news comes as Brits are set to bask in ‘early summer’ temperatures next week due to a heatwave in the Arctic.

The Met Office says that London in particular will see clear skies and top temperatures of around 17°C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
