Latest Conor McGregor-Paddy Pimblett Development Leaves UFC Legends With Contrary Opinions
It takes a special individual to pull in over a million pay-per-view buys in UFC. Irish Superstar and former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor is the only marquee who has managed to breeze past this number on multiple occasions.
However, the UFC star is going through a rough patch, which leaves room for the next generation to fill the void. It looks like the promotion has struck gold in yet another European fighter, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett.
Michael Bisping believes Paddy is indeed the next iteration of Conor McGregor
Former UFC middleweight champion and Hall of Famer Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping supports the comparison. He stated that in just his second fight with the promotion, Paddy has turned up as a fan favorite. In a similar fashion, even he has gained the trust and support of the entire nation, as is rising up the ranks quickly, like McGregor.
He said,” Listen, listen, the man is a lot of fun outside the octagon, even in the car park people were chanting, Ohhhh Paddy the Baddy, people were jumping on the roof, cars and all kinds of s**t. It’s crazy to see. It could be the second coming of Conor McGregor. ”
Chael Sonnen Dismisses Paddy’s comparison with McGregor
Meanwhile, veteran UFC fighter, Chael Sonnen, disagreed with the chatter and shut it down quickly. He stated that the compassion between Paddy and McGregor makes little sense. McGregor has showcased immense skill already, and Paddy hasn’t faced the same competition just yet.
He said, “A lot of guys have a level of success like Paddy just had. They have this great moment and they do what we call resting on your laurels. Talking about the good old day, other guys use that as a springboard. That’s the motivation, that’s the drive, that’s the rush, that’s the success I want to continue to have and I’m going to focus like I’ve never focused before.”

“Now that’s the test that he is in right now. I don’t know Paddy well enough to tell you what his character is like. However, I did follow his career… he is only improving George. The guy’s skills are solid. They’re far from bad.”
