It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia stars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson mock Imagine Dragons in group’s hilarious new video for Follow You

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia stars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson star in the music video for Imagine Dragons’ new single Follow You.

The video sees Kaitlin treat her real life partner Rob to a ‘private performance from your favourite band’, and he gets excited when he believes he’ll be watching The Killers.

When he finds out it’s actually Imagine Dragons – Kaitlin’s fave group – he sulks while his other half’s imagination runs away with her.

As the band perform she dreams about the members trying to get her attention, with front man Dan Reynolds singing with his shirt open.

In Rob’s mind meanwhile he becomes the lead singer, and all the other members of the group too to make Kaitlin notice him.

In the end she gets the best of both worlds as Rob and Dan team up to sing, sweaty and shirtless.

The couple decide to make a quick getaway as soon as the song is finished, leaving the lead singer disappointed.

‘We don’t want to hear anything else,’ Rob tells him, with Kaitlin adding that they should go ‘before they play Radioactive’.

Despite the roasting in the video, Follow You is actually a serious, romantic song inspired by the break up and reconciliation between Dan and his wife.

He said of the single: ‘She was endlessly patient with me. She didn’t need me. She even taught me that I didn’t need her. But we loved each other and at the end of our seven month separation a couple years back, we chose to remarry and to stay together.

‘I proposed again and she said yes, again. Not every relationship works out this way, but it did for us.

‘I wrote Follow You after we got back together. I wanted it to represent a love that is realistic. One where love isn’t perfect but it endures.’

Both Follow You and second single Cutthroat mark Imagine Dragons’ first new music since 2018.

Follow You is out now.
