‘Awkward’ moment Lady Gaga ‘snubs’ Caitlyn Jenner at Elton John’s Oscars party with barista quip

An exchange between Lady Gaga and Caitlyn Jenner at Sir Elton John’s Oscars bash has got people talking, with fans convinced that the Poker Face hitmaker ‘snubbed’ the former sports star.
The pair were caught on video chatting outside the Elton John Aids Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood, but people are convinced that the chat was far from convivial.
A clip of their ‘awkward’ chat soon went viral on Twitter, with people claiming that the 36-year-old superstar – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta -was trying to give the 76-year-old former Olympian the cold shoulder.
Caitlyn, dressed in a black top, red skirt and green, red and black handbag, can be seen walking up to Gaga before the start of the red carpet.
The House of Gucci star, who was dressed in an elaborate pale yellow strapless gown that she accessorised with deep red lipstick, and a three-tiered diamond necklace, can be seen flanked by a large entourage, including Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish.
In the footage, Caitlyn can be heard asking the Oscar-nominated actress: ‘Are you spending time around Malibu anymore?’

In response, Gaga simply said: ‘Yes’ to which Caitlyn replied, ‘Oh, you’re still out there?’
Once more, she remains monosyllabic: ‘Yes’.
Caitlyn tries to strike up conversation once again, chipping in: ‘I haven’t seen you at the Starbucks in a while.’
Gaga seemed briefly flustered, and said: ‘Well, I’ve, I’ve switched baristas,’ before she snapped her head to one side and walked off, signaling the conversation was over.
Caitlyn made another attempt to end things on good terms, adding, ‘Well, good to see you!’ before David, who was co-hosting the viewing party, said ‘Good seeing you, Caitlyn,’ to end the conversation.
Needless to say, the exchange sent the internet into complete meltdown, with many Twitter users poking fun at the ‘awkward’ exchange.
One commented on the surreal nature of the comments, saying ‘Not Caitlin Jenner telling Gaga “I haven’t seen you at the Starbucks in a while” PLS [sic].’
There were also plenty of memes that riffed on the ‘switch baristas’ comment.
Did Gaga choose to switch simply as a way of avoiding Caitlyn?
