Caroline Flack’s friend Lou Teasdale has received an outpouring of love following last night’s Channel 4 documentary on the late Love Island star.

Caroline died by suicide in February 2020 and the new film, which included her mother, twin sister Jody and close friend Olly Murs, discussed the mental health struggles the TV personality faced throughout her life and the events leading up to her death.

After the documentary aired, Lou took to Instagram where she shared a picture with a simple message: ‘be kind.’ (sic)

The post racked up over 50,000 likes with a number of celebrities, including JLS singer Melvin Odoom, Katie Piper, and Jake Quickenden, commenting with a red love heart emoji.

Fans also flooded to the photo with their support and among the red hearts were comments such as: ‘Sending so much love to you all’ and ‘Treat people with kindness always’.

Meanwhile, Caroline’s friend Dawn O’Porter shared her thoughts on the documentary on her Instagram Stories.

‘You’ll see a side to Caroline that you won’t have seen before. You’ll see what unkind comments can do to someone,’ she penned.

‘You’ll understand that how you perceive someone might not be the reality of who they are. And hopefully you’ll consider that if you’re ever tempted to write something abusive online.’

Dawn continued: ‘I’d like to add that Caroline absolutely had her struggles, but her joy and vibrancy and silliness and sense of fun were all very real too.

‘Despite her mental health battles, she remains the funniest, silliest, most fun, most rock and roll, most utterly ridiculous, most adventurous and most loyal person you could imagine.

‘People can be more than one thing. Caroline was everything.’

Since the documentary aired, Caroline’s mum Christine has been praised for opening up and speaking about her daughter.

Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death is available on All 4.
