Elon Musk, Who Spent $3 Billion to Acquire Stakes in Twitter, Almost Changed LeBron James’ Lakers Future

With his recent acquisition of a sizeable stake in Twitter, Billionaire CEO Elon Musk has once again broken the internet. According to multiple reports, Musk has acquired 9.2% of the stakes of the popular social media platform Twitter in a blockbuster deal.

Interestingly enough, Musk broke the internet a few years ago. When Kawhi Leonard’s future was in the air, an analyst on Twitter asked Musk where will Leonard be traded. According to Musk, he felt the Los Angeles Lakers were on the way to acquiring Leonard.

Although his prediction did not come true, it almost changed the future of LeBron James and the Lakers franchise as a whole.

Elon Musk almost changed the fortunes of LeBron James

There is no debate LeBron James has established himself as one of the greatest Laker ever. He led the franchise to their 17th NBA title in 2020 and has been leading the team by example. However, one tweet by Billionaire Elon Musk could have changed his fortunes.

Musk wrote on Twitter, “Heading back into the factory, so that’s enough for now. Don’t take my Tweet too seriously. For one thing, it’s called a “Tweet”.”

Interestingly enough, popular NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor asked Musk regarding Kawhi Leonard and where will he be traded. Musk replied, “Lake Show.” This came at a time when Leonard’s future with the Toronto Raptors was still in the air and the Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly interested in him.

However, Leonard ultimately ended up joining the other side of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers would have certainly loved a Leonard and LeBron James duo as predicted by Elon Musk.

How have LeBron and Leonard performed this season?

While LeBron James has had one of his best seasons in terms of scoring, he has failed to save the Lakers. The team is currently placed 11th in the Western Conference and is out of the play-in tournament. James averages 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists this season.

On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard has played 0 games this season! He has suffered from injuries all season that has hampered his return. However, the team has coped well in his absence. Despite playing the majority of the season without Kawhi and Paul George, the Los Angeles Clippers are currently placed 8th in their conference.
