KANYE West has shocked fans as he was caught smiling in a rare happy moment caught on video.

All this comes after the controversial rapper dropped out of Coachella following his social media hiatus.

Lawrenze Franklin, a musician who also happens to be Kanye’s cousin, took to Instagram to share a short clip featuring the hitmaker in what seemed to be a good mood.

The post was captioned: “This what 85 looks like! My family including my cousin Kanye surprised my grandma for her 85th bday.

“Been too long since… was a great day.”

In the clip Kanye’s grandma is caught off guard as her family arrives to celebrate her birthday.

The 44-year-old is then seen with a big smile on his face as he hugs his grandma before they all praise her by celebrating and playing Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder.

Fans were quick to take to the comments section to react to Kanye’s positive behavior.

One wrote: “This is awesome brotha! Family over everything. Probably the most I’ve ever seen Kanye smile.”

Another added: “This is what Kanye needs, man! Beautiful family” while a third chimed in, “This is so pure… blessings to grandma on her birthday.”

Kanye’s big smile is a change from the last couple of months which included various attacks on his ex Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson.

However, he has since taken a break from social media as a source exclusively told The Sun Kanye spent the earlier part of the weekend in Montecito laying low with girlfriend Chaney Jones.

The model, 24, even showed off a new Birkin bag on Instagram after a romantic dinner at Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch with the entertainer.

She captioned the snap, which also featured a bouquet of roses, with the words: “Thanks bb,” and tagged her rapper beau.

An insider explained: “Kanye has gone underground at the moment, and his team are barely talking to anyone.

“He’s trying to stay out of the spotlight for a while and surround himself with the right people.”

Staying out of the spotlight has included deciding not to partake in Coachella.

COACHELLA DROPOUT

According to TMZ, Kanye, along with Kylie Jenner’s baby daddy Travis Scott, both dropped out of the big-time musical festival.

While Kanye has not revealed an explanation behind his decision, Travis has not performed live since the Astroworld incident, which claimed the lives of 10 people and left hundreds injured.

Previously, Kanye was also banned from performing at this year’s Grammys following his online behavior and his attacks on the show’s host, Trevor Noah.

MOVING FORWARD

Meanwhile, Kanye’s ex Kim, 41, has moved forward with her boyfriend Pete, 28, as they took a major step in their relationship when the reality star got to meet the comic’s grandparents.

The couple have been able to do this despite Kanye coming after the Saturday Night Live star numerous times.

Kanye has not only called Pete a “d**khead,” but he even “kidnaps and beheads” the TV star in his animated music video for his track Eazy; a project he has since defended.

The former couple share four kids: North, eight; Saint, six; Chicago, four; and Psalm, two.
