Daniel Ricciardo & Lando Norris Get Creative With Their Poetic Messages to McLaren F1

Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are not having the best time on the grid right now. The two extremely talented men are struggling immensely as the MCL-36 fails to provide them with the pace.

However, the two seem to be getting along better than ever, as they go into year number two with each other. It could possibly be because of the shared disappointments they face from this year’s season openers.

Yearbook messages from Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo surface

Lando has been with McLaren for the past three years. The young Briton recently signed a deal that will keep him with the Woking team till 2025. Many feel that Norris made a mistake by doing so, but he must’ve had his reasons for trusting the team. With so much competition around him, and many top seats filled, the Britisher at least gets to stay in Formula 1 till 2025.

A recent post by a fan account revealed the 2021 yearbook messages that Lando and Riccardo left for the team. While they sound very positive and thankful in nature, fans did not fail to pick up some spicy comments.

Daniel wrote a very simple message that somewhat reflected how he has indeed faced “some pretty testing times”. Funnily, Ricciardo has still not recovered from the testing times and it seems like it is going to stay like that for a while.

Lando not happy with letting Ricciardo win?

Lando’s message gave the fans all the drama they needed. The 22-year-old wrote: “I came here to win, but this year I didn’t (I let Daniel).” This was a very bold thing for Norris to say because he was indeed told to hold position back when McLaren won in Monza. Ricciardo led the race as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were involved in a crash.

Additionally, Norris kept complaining about how Ricciardo was driving too slow, so the question remains: Could Norris have overtaken Daniel?

Many don’t doubt that McLaren has a better driver in Lando, and the young lad could’ve won his first GP back then. However, the Woking team’s decision to not let the two drivers fight was also understandable. Given the current circumstances, this year McLaren winning a trophy is a long shot.
