“I Don’t Like It”: When NASCAR Star Danica Patrick Told Joe Rogan She Doesn’t Like Getting Passed By Female Racers

Over the years, several interesting personalities have appeared on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. Many of them being from the MMA industry. However, Rogan has also hosted several people from other sports backgrounds as well. One such person is Danica Patrick of NASCAR.

During an older episode on Rogan’s podcast, the racer spoke about female drivers in the sport. She said, “They don’t want to get passed by a girl and you know what? I don’t either. Is that weird?”

“I really don’t. I mean, I’ve driven, I’ve raced with girls and I don’t, I don’t like it.”

Speaking about what goes on in her head when another female racer passes her, Patrick said, “I’m like, ‘can’t believe my car isn’t faster right now. … So it happens with guys too but you know, I don’t know, it’s just a cultural norm that girls aren’t good in a lot you know, aren’t very good and that they somewhat don’t belong. I get like the little bit of animosity at first, but I would have thought that people would have got used to it a little bit more than they did.”

Joe Rogan clarified whether she meant that she herself held the ‘cultural animosity’ and Patrick agreed. She went on to say that it was because it is something she is ‘not used’ to. However, she also said that she does not have the same cultural animosity towards herself.

In addition to this, the Spotify podcaster also discussed how Patrick was at the top of her sport’s food chain which men mostly dominate. Because of this, he expected that Patrick would face discrimination.

Further in the episode, Patrick revealed that she wasn’t a daredevil. This seemed to have stunned Rogan, who disagreed. The racer went on to say that she was a methodical driver.

She also went on to describe her childhood experience with a go-kart which really interested the UFC commentator.

On the UFC front, a big event is coming up. UFC 273 takes place on April 9 in Jacksonville, Florida. As a result, Joe Rogan is expected to call the fights. Several interesting fights have been lined up and, hence, 273 is expected to be absolutely huge.

Rogan will be joined by Jon Anik and Paul Felder in the commentary booth.
