Sean Dyche reveals he told Burnley players that Everton don’t know how to win a game away from home in brutal team-talk

SEAN DYCHE inspired Burnley’s comeback win by telling his players Everton probably don’t know how to win an away match.

Jay Rodriguez and Max Cornet punished Toffees’ errors following Dyche’s damning half-time verdict to leave fourth-bottom Everton just a point above the Clarets.

Richarlison’s two penalties had overturned an early opener from Burnley defender Nathan Collins but the Clarets revived for a 3-2 triumph.

Frank Lampard‘s strugglers wasted regular opportunities.

Then Rodriguez’s leveller on 57 minutes left Everton nervy.

And Cornet sparked delirium from home players and fans alike with his late winner.

Dyche told Sky Sports: “I said to them at half time – I’m not sure these know how to win a game (away) lads”.

Jordan Pickford and Ben Godfrey blundered for Cornet’s clincher.

And Lampard blamed ‘mistakes for their goals and mistakes in the fact we’re not clinical to take the numerous chances that should have had us clear at that point’.

The Toffees’ chief added: “2-1 up, the way we were playing it was for us to go and make it three.

“But if we don’t do it in the final third with numerous chances then we concede through individual mistakes.”

And in a warning shot to his flops, he added: “We’re just above the zone, If we didn’t know we were in a fight, we certainly know now.

“We have nine games now, We have to give absolutely everything, absolutely every ounce. I certainly will.”
