Having wrestled in WWE, Shaquille O’Neal Admits Using Violence Against Some Teammates
Shaquille O’Neal is a 7’1” giant and his weight was recorded at 325lbs in his playing days. With his insulting dunks and physically powered driving runs towards the rim was quite unstoppable. It is no secret that his physique was a big reason for his success.
The dominant figure was always a threat to the opposition. Stopping Shaq from playing the way he wanted was a difficult task for the opposing teams. However, he did have his weaknesses in free throws and three-pointers. But safe to say, he made up for them in the way he used to drive towards the rim.
Shaq was dominant on and off the court. He was always influential in boosting his team, pushing them to do better. Shaq believes that in every successful team and group of athletes, there have to be some differences, so that resolving them and working for each other makes the team even stronger from within. He explained this in a segment of his podcast.

Shaquille O’Neal reveals the ‘smacking’ he had given to his teammates
Shaq has played in 6 different franchises over the span of 19 years in the NBA. Not to forget, he has also wrestled in the WWE. Shaq is someone who knows the value of team building and opening up to one another. He believes fights, disagreements, testing, and pushing each other always would help a team grow stronger and fonder.
“There’s a myth about you have to be all buddy-buddy, you do not. You have to have respect. Every now and then you test your brother out and you see who’s what and things you said and you fight but the next day you keep them moving. That’s how we roll. –— It’s just about being held accountable.” Shaq shared at around 40 minute mark of his podcast.
Shaq confessed, “Every team I have been on I had to smack somebody.” He added, “When you run a ship, the ship ain’t always gonna be on calm water. Every now and then you gotta go through hurricane water, tornado water, shallow water to get to your final destination.”

Shaq, who also has been in the WWE, knows that it is not necessary to always be polite with one another. While playing a sport, if some of the arguments make you closer to your teammates, then it is good for the success of the team. During The Big Podcast with Shaq, Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams made the point of it being behind closed doors.

However, in Shaq’s opinion, whatever works for a team to become a team in all respects. A squad, a team has to be a unit. And whatever needs to be done to achieve that must be.
