MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred Sent a Heartfelt Letter and Gifts to Players in an Attempt to Re-Build His Relationship With the Stars
Rob Manfred, the Commissioner of Baseball, has written a Note of Appreciation and has given Bose headphones as a gift to every player playing in the MLB. Manfred gifted the gift box to the players on the 2022 Opening Day.
The gift box contained Bose headphones and a Letter of Appreciation signed by Manfred himself. Rob Manfred previously served his term as the Chief Operating Officer of MLB from the 2014 season. Later, on January 25th, 2015, Manfred was elected as the new Commissioner of Baseball by the MLB owners. Manfred took over the role from Bud Selig, who was the Commissioner from 1998 to 2015. It was Selig who appointed Manfred as the COO of MLB in 2014.

Rob Manfred sent a Letter of Appreciation to every MLB player
On April 10th, 2022, Stephen J. Nesbitt, who is an MLB Writer at The Athletic, posted the image of the Letter of Appreciation written by Rob Manfred on his Twitter account. Reacting to the tweet, the fans mentioned that this gift box move was a way of mending the relationship between the players and Manfred.
The note stated, “As we get ready to start a new season, I wanted to take a moment to send a note of appreciation. Being a Major Leaguer is an extraordinary accomplishment that, beyond your remarkable talent shows your dedication to this great game. Along with the clubs, I’m committed to working together with all players to grow the sport. I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and by working together, I know we can bring the game to new heights.

As of the MLB 2021 season, 906 players played in the MLB. The number might have increased this season, but this step by Rob Manfred was taken both positively and negatively by the fans. Fans say that after making the players suffer for 99 days during the Lockout, all the Commissioner can gift is a headphone and a note. Whereas, some fans say that this is a significant step toward uniting the clubs, the owners, and the board members. We never know what will happen.
