Fatal accidents in sports

Sports can often turn fatal for athletes and Eya Guezguez is not the only horrific case in the sport’s history. In the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili went through a fatal incident that took his life.

Another training accident involved Canadian freestyle Sarah Burke. During a training session, she fell and fractured her vertebral artery. The accident was so severe that after 9 days Burke passed away.

Risk is the factor that makes any sport exciting. However, sometimes it can result in unfortunate incidents. All of these risks are an integral part of sports. You can take precautions, wear protective gear and be as careful as possible. But sometimes fate is the ultimate decision taker.
