Deebo Samuel Might’ve Just Hinted At Wanting $25 Million Annually to Stay at San Francisco 49ers

NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers now know what they need to pay to retain the services of their wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel made his intentions clear of getting his money following the scrubbing away of any relations to the organization from his social media. While his actions have put a doubt over his continuing his stay with the organization, Samuel seems determined to get his just reward.

The unique Niners WR led the offensive firepower of the organization last season and put on a showcase of his physical brand of football. His performances did earn him his first All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors last season after an injury-prone start to life in the NFL.

Samuel was playing a crucial role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense during their playoff run in 2021.

According to the PFF’s Ari Meirov, the wideout recently liked one of the tweets of his closest friends. The tweet did mention the figure of $25 million as the only figure that might convince Samuel to stay beyond his expiring contract. He might receive a lucrative extension from the 49ers. It is unlikely to happen until close to training camp.

Does Deebo Samuel deserve the lucrative extension with the 49ers?

This could be Samuel’s perfect opportunity for him to get his money after seeing his WR peers receiving the same. While the wideout hasn’t been a consistent performer like the league’s top wide receivers, there remain concerns about his reliability. The 2021 NFL campaign will provide the necessary encouragement for the franchise to tie him down on a new deal.

He racked up an impressive 1,405 receiving yards for 77 receptions and resulting in 6 TDs. Samuel has stated his love for the Niners franchise head coach Kyle Shanahan and also the area of San Francisco.

Despite his tantrums on social media, the organization will look to retain a player of his versatility and capabilities.

The Niners fans will hope that Samuel remains with the team beyond this season. The 49ers will be looking to make a return to the NFC Championship game in 2022. He will be valuable on their roster if 2021 was the start of the upward trajectory of his NFL career.
