The 23-year-old had travelled from Birmingham to the Scottish capital but was swooped on after a tip off.

Cops then discovered a cardboard box containing 49g of cocaine, said to have a street value of up to £12,000.

A further 47g of heroin was also discovered, worth around £1,600.

Tyndale this week appeared at Edinburgh’s sheriff court where she admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine on March 10 last year.

But after hearing she had allegedly only been carrying the drugs to help pay her rent, she was spared prison, BirminghamLive reports.

Sheriff Norman McFadyen instead issued an 18-month supervision order with 180 hours of unpaid work.

The court heard how Tyndale had found herself in “serious financial trouble” with rent arrears, according to the Daily Record.

Cameron Tait, defending, said a friend had suggested Tyndale could earn some extra cash by transporting a package between the two cities as she had done before.

He alleged Tyndale, from Birmingham, had not looked inside the box before, and “regretted undertaking the journey”.

And she had told cops on the scene: “I’ve brought something up in my bag. I don’t know what it is.

“I don’t want to go to jail.”
