Fred Kerley wins Gold at USATF Golden Games 2022
One of the most versatile sprinters in the world, Kerley has won the silver medal at the Tokyo Games in the 100m event. The once 400m runner is now one of the toughest 100m sprinters.
Fred made headlines last year as he decided to shorten his distance from 400m to the 100m and 200m events. In what is considered to be the marquee event of the USATF Golden Games, the 200m event, Kerley came out on top, defeating Michael Norman. Clocking in at 19.80 seconds, the world’s fastest time this year, Kerley has bolstered his argument as a top US Sprinter in the short distance races.
Michael Norman came in second with a time of 19.83 seconds. Rai Benjamin finished in third place while Canadian Jerome Blake took fourth place.
