The Saturdays star Mollie King sees the benefits of England cricketer fiancé Stuart Broad’s globe-trotting: ‘It keeps things fresh’
Mollie King says being engaged to an England cricketer keeps the romance ‘fresh’ — but she used to go batty when he was away.
The presenter explained why she and fiancé Stuart Broad are the ideal team in lockdown, after the sportsman, 34, popped the question on New Years’ Day.
‘We are that sickening couple, because a lot of people now will be like, “OK, I need a bit of space and independence,”’ the Radio 1 host told Guilty Pleasures. ‘But I am craving to see him all of the time because he goes away for such long stints. I think it does really work for us.’
Mollie, 33, admitted she was worried about Stuart’s globe-trotting when they first started out. She said: ‘If you had asked me at the start if I’d think that was my ideal scenario I would just tell you I miss him too much. Which I do.
‘But when he comes home it feels really fresh. We can’t wait to hang out with each other all the time, so it has definitely worked so far.’
She revealed she has had to learn to be emotionally independent — and now dreams up holidays for them while he is away. ‘I miss him so much. It’s something I had to really work on myself,’ she added. ‘Now I have learnt how to deal with it. I know it sounds corny but I try and do things for myself and use that time to work on myself. Like exercise, then I have a goal that helps me count down the weeks.’
Helping her are the likes of Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives on Disney+’s new Star service, which she has collaborated with Disney+ to launch.
‘I have relied on it,’ she said. ‘I used to always feel guilty about sitting down and watching TV and relaxing but this past year, for my mental health, I’ve learned it is really important just to switch off.’

Katy must be Blooming furious with Orlando
Orlando Bloom risked facing the wrath of his fiancée Katy Perry after he spilled that his sex life has plummeted since the arrival of their daughter Daisy Dove six months ago.
Even worse, the Lord Of The Rings star says the Firework singer ranks fourth in the list of his loves — behind his late dog.
Asked how often he has sex, the 44-year-old heartthrob said: ‘Not enough — we just had a baby, though.’ And discussing the greatest loves of his life, Bloom listed them, saying: ‘My son, Flynn, and my daughter, Daisy Dove, a dog called Mighty and then, of course, my fiancée.’
And Katy may have Kissed A Girl… and liked it — but the singer, 36, doesn’t top Bloom’s rankings when it comes to his best snog.
‘I had a girlfriend when I was 17 called Debbie: that was a kiss.’ the actor revealed to Guardian Weekend.
Eddie: Oil try anything to relax… but booze wasn’t so Fantastic
He might have a squeaky clean image — but Eddie Redmayne admits he has turned to marijuana products and booze to settle his jitters.
The Fantastic Beasts star confessed he has used a cannabis-derived oil and even got tipsy on set in a bid to temper the anxiety he gets before a new acting job.
‘I’ve tried everything (to deal with my nerves); meditation, CBD oil, drinking,’ the 39-year-old Oscar winner explained.
‘Then I get paranoid that my semi-drunkenness is affecting the work and that sends me into even more of a spin,’ he added.
Lana’s next album ‘to set record straight’
Lana Del Rey is already lining up a new record — and says it will tackle accusations she has ‘glamorised’ abuse.
The Born To Die singer, 35, made the announcement on Instagram just hours after releasing latest record Chemtrails Over the Country Club. And she said Rock Candy Sweet, to come out on June 1, will challenge claims of her ‘cultural appropriation and glamorising of domestic abuse’.
Lana faced backlash last year for claiming stars including Ariana Grande and Beyoncé had ‘songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, f, cheating etc’ — while she was ‘crucified’ for tunes about ‘being in love even if the relationship is not perfect’.
Shower intruder is in Depp trouble
Johnny Depp’s headaches have continued to mount — after an intruder drank his booze and took a shower at his home.
Police arrested a man at the Pirates Of The Caribbean star’s Hollywood Hills mansion last week after security gaurds raised the alarm. The uninvited guest had allegedly refused to come out of the shower after helping himself to the star’s alcohol.
It’s not the first time this year the fallen 57-year-old actor has had an unwanted visitor. In January, a woman was arrested at his house for burglary.
And it all came as Depp headed back to the courts in a bid to overturn the result of his libel case.
Me, model? No-way-sis says Noel’s girl Anais
Oasis star Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais says she is ‘so f***ing sick of people referring to me as a model’. The 21-year-old, who has posed for lingerie brands, raged: ‘I’m unnecessarily subject to people saying I’m too ugly to be a model when I never claimed to be one in the first place!’
Isla be sad to see back of Sacha’s Borat tache!
Isla Fisher revealed she will miss Borat’s moustache. Her hubby Sacha Baron Cohen has vowed it is too dangerous to play the character — after he was almost lynched in Borat 2. But actress Isla, 45, said: ‘I will never be happy to see the back of Borat. I’m very fond of that handlebar moustache.’
