“I Don’t Think It Makes Any Difference…” – NASCAR Hall of Famer Gives His Verdict on Kyle Busch ‘Backing Into a Win’ at Bristol

“The same f*****g guy who backs into every f*****g win that he ever f*****g gets backs into another f*****g win. Bullshit!” This is what Kyle Busch had said about Alex Bowman after the Hendrick driver won the Cup Race in Las Vegas late in the day.

Now, Busch and Bowman made peace with each other post this rant.

But recently, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver himself fitted the bill of “backing into a win” after he took the checkered flag in the last few seconds of the Bristol dirt race. And in true Kyle Busch fashion, he admitted the same before anyone could’ve.

Speaking at the post-race conference, Busch referenced his own comments from earlier in the season as he said, “Chaos ensued, I guess. We were able to make it through and steal a win, back into one.”

But whether he backed into a win or not, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett feels it doesn’t really matter in the bigger scheme of things.

“I don’t think it makes any difference in the whole scheme of things because I don’t think you’ll find a record book anywhere that says anything about how Kyle Busch won number 60,” he said in a recent appearance at the NASCAR on NBC Podcast.

Jarett further explained that any other driver who has been successful in the sport, has, at some point in his career, been either shoved aside or has had a win taken from him.

But similarly, they’ve also been on the other side of it too, and that’s just how racing is.

Kyle Busch took it as he got it

After the race, Kyle Busch spoke about his first win of the season that tied him with Richard Petty for the record of most consecutive seasons with a race win.

“I think you take ’em how you get ‘em,” he said. “I feel like we ran up front all night long.”

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver jokingly pointed out that he passed the defending Cup champion, Kyle Larson, something he insisted should be written down.

“I ripped the lip, as they say, a few times there on restarts in order to get some spots and stuff like that to get us in better positions, to be in contention to be up where we needed to be,” Kyle Busch added.
