“Somebody That Loves So Much”- Michael Phelps’ Wife Nicole Johnson Has Played a Significant Role in Every Stage of His Life
As human beings, our lives are certainly entwined with people around us, and they play a huge role in shaping what would become of us. For the world’s greatest swimmer, Michael Phelps, it was his wife Nicole who made his life a little easier and worth the journey. She has been the rock supporting him in every step of his career and personal life.
The couple had an on-and-off relationship for a very long time. However, in 2016, they finally decided to never leave each other’s side. Michael Phelps and Nicole Phelps are one of the most talked-about celebrity couples in the world. Even though their journey is well-known to all, every recurring mention of it garners fans’ admiration.
A pillar of strength
It’s been six years since Michael and Nicole have been married, and throughout their relationship, they’ve been each other’s constant pillars of strength. Recalling his journey with Nicole, the swimming legend said, “The coolest thing I think with our relationship is that we’ve been just been able to go through absolutely everything together. The good, the bad, and the ugly, privately and publicly, and I think that has made us so much stronger.”

Michael further added, “we’ve been able to grow as one another and just learn with each other how to communicate better and It’s been the coolest journey for me just being able to grow with somebody that loves so much and that has played a huge, significant role in my life for a long time.”
Who inspired Michael Phelps?
Michael was the youngest of the three siblings, and his sisters were the first ones to inspire him. In fact, his sister, Whitney, was the World No. 3 and No. 1 one in the country back in the day.
For Michael, opportunities came easy. However, to be able to capitalize on them as he did is absolutely rare. Perhaps that is what makes him the greatest of all time- the ability to rise beyond the expectation of everyone’s imagination.
