JRE #1805: Mike Tyson Goes ‘Nuclear’ on Deontay Wilder

The two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson joined UFC commentator Joe Rogan in his podcast. The duo exchanged ideas and discussed their views on the current state of heavyweight boxing. They both were in consensus about Deontay Wilder and his killer knockout strength.

Additionally, during the podcast, Rogan and Tyson discussed the potential fighters that could match the level of the Bronze Bomber.

What does Mike Tyson think about Deontay Wilder?

The word holds a lot of weight when the Baddest Man on Planet calls someone the hardest hitter. Although Tyson calls the former WBC heavyweight champion a knockout specialist, he critiques his style of fighters.

Iron Mike explained that Wilder can be a one-trick Pony. He elaborated, “Having a hard puncher is like having a nuclear war but it don’t serve no military value if it doesn’t land on his target”

The two fight enthusiasts believe there’s only one man that would give the Bronze Bomber a run for his money and that fighter is the Ukrainian international, Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson explains why it’s a perfect matchup. He stated, “Because [Wilder] is going to be aggressive trying to knock him [Usyk] out.” While Usyk is known to be very nimble and hard to hit.

Rogan believes that no one can survive Wilder’s power punches as he says, “Listen Deontay Wilder can knock anybody out. His power is ridiculous.”
