Shohei Ohtani’s interview with Mark Gubicza

Journey of the MLB 2021 season

Recently, Los Angeles Angels analyst Mark Gubicza conducted an interview with Shohei Ohtani, where he asked Shohei how he saw the 2021 season.

Shohei replied, “Overall, looking at it, had fun, especially in the first half. The team was playing better. But towards the second half, once our playoff chances started to lessen, it was hard to kinda be more motivated and find a reason to play. Even if you win, there’s nothing ahead. So it was kind of a grind in that sense.”

Favorite moment from the season

Mark then moved on to ask him about his favorite moment of the season. To which, Ohtani said, “When I hit a home run on my start day. That was a moment that comes out in my mind. I felt like I’m here to have results and keep on doing that. Personally, and for the team, it was really big.”

Strategy for the MLB 2021 season

Shortly, Ohtani was asked about his preparation for the current 2022 season, to which he replied, “I definitely feel a lot stronger physically. I am confident that I’ll have a better season than last year. I am prepared. We are very capable of getting to the playoffs. We just have to stay healthy.”
