Grammy GOAT Jay Z Boldly Claimed To Be as Death Defying As This F1 Legend
There is a reason why pretty much the entire world hails Michael Schumacher as one of the ‘Greatest of All Time’ F1 drivers. Of course, the German racing legend is the first ever to eclipse the five world championship title feat set by Juan Manuel Fangio in 1957. And in the process, he also went on to crush some of the finest records that initially seemed indestructible.
But, on top of all that, it was his ardent F1 fans that echoed the name ‘Schumacher’ across the world and established a huge fandom that would sustain for decades to come. And quite interestingly, the ‘echo’ even managed to sneak its way into a world-famous American rapper’s song.

We’re sure most of you are aware of the name Jay-Z. However, if you’re one of the clueless ones, here’s a tiny bit about this Brooklyn-based songwriter. Jay-Z is a mere stage name which is quite obvious, but his real name goes by Shawn Corey Carter.

As mentioned earlier, the 56-year-old is one of the most prominent rappers in the music industry. What’s more, Jay-Z has even associated with several other incredible singers and bands including Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park, Kanye West, Rihanna, and others.
F1 legend Michael Schumacher features in a Jay-Z song
Back in 2003, Jay-Z launched the song, Justify My Thug, which quite shockingly had Michael Schumacher’s name in the lyrics. You’re probably wondering, ‘How on earth did the name Schumacher even feature in a Jay-Z song?’

Well, Jay-Z did his magic with the words and managed to bring the two worlds together, and here’s the bit.
“You understand I am chasin’ my breath
I am narrowly escapin’ my death, oh yes
I am the Michael Schumacher of the Roc roster
Travellin’ Mach 5, barrel in my apparel can stop God
God forgive me but I can’t let them deliver me to you
Until, I won this race, then eventually
My engine gon’ burn out, I get whatever is meant for me
However it turns out fine, red line!”
Overall, the song made its way to the market in 2003, the year Schumacher clinched his fourth consecutive world championship title for Ferrari. And we’ve managed to find a hidden treasure coming from a 24-time Grammy award winner. So, how many of such hidden treasures related to F1 do you think are hiding?
