“We Hated Each Other…but I Like It”: Charles Leclerc Relishes Rebirth of Age-Old Vendetta Against Max Verstappen

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen are the future of Formula 1. And the fact the two hated each other is going to produce some mouth-watering racing. Charles and Max are old rivals. They go way back into their karting days and they were competing for positions even then. Now, with the biggest traveling circus, they’re showcasing the same rivalry.

But with a lot more at stake and much, much faster cars.

Charles Leclerc Vs Max Verstappen- Future of F1?

Leclerc and Verstappen have pushed each other to the limit in the opening three races. However, this is not the first time. The pair have been at it from a very early stage in their lives. Specifically, since their karting days. However, Leclerc is on top at the moment and when asked about the fierce rivalry between the top, he shared his opinion.

“It is going to be very close. It has always been very close. In karting, it was either me or him and that’s why we hated each other at one point because very often it didn’t end in the best way possible.” explained Charles. The Ferrari man hated Verstappen. I wonder if the emotion persists.

Max has retired his Red Bull in two of the opening three races. But that has come only after he and Charles fought tooth and nail during the entire race. The competitive spirit between the two is incredible, and it shows on the track. With just three races in, the gap between Leclerc and Verstappen is of 46 points in the driver’s championship table. A gap Max will love to cover as soon as possible.

Charles Leclerc anticipates an exciting season ahead

Leclerc is asked this question often about the difference between the two. “In which parts we are stronger or not (as drivers), I don’t know, We just have two very different styles of driving. In some days one will win, in some the other will. But I like it.” Leclerc said.
