Charles Leclerc Breaks a Sweat Over Growing Red Bull F1 Threat: “They Have Something More…”

It was the sprint weekend in Imola that had all the fans hyped for the Max Verstappen-Charles Leclerc battle. And it did not disappoint with Max taking the victory on Saturday in the closing stages. Although the main race is on Sunday, this result gave the two teams plenty to reflect on.

Will the Ferrari domination from the initial races continue or will Red Bull charge to the win?

Leclerc worried about Red bull’s pace

Although Ferrari has dominated proceedings so far this season, Red Bull has shown flashes of pace. But, their reliability has let them down. However, so far this weekend, it has been smooth sailing for the team as they secured the Sprint race win in Imola today.

This gave Charles Leclerc and co a lot to ponder about as he shared one of his concerns in the post-race interview. He spoke about the pace of the RB-18 and said, “maybe in race pace this weekend they have something more than we do”.

He also went on to add, “It’s going to be much more difficult than the first 3 races because they seem very very strong.” This will be a major point of concern for Ferrari and Leclerc as the major points will be handed out in tomorrow’s race.

Leclerc believes he can still win in Imola

Although Verstappen took the win in the Sprint on Saturday. Charles Leclerc still predicts that Sunday could be his day to seal the win in Imola. However, he will have a few concerns as the Red Bull duo of Verstappen and Perez looked rapid and will be on his side at the start tomorrow.

They quizzed the Ferrari driver in his post-race interview about his chances on Sunday. To which he replied, “If we do everything perfect we still believe that we can bring the victory home.” It will be interesting to see the 2 duke it out on track.

Also, with Red Bull debuting upgrades this weekend, they might just beat Ferrari by being the fastest car on the grid. Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz have also qualified in P3 and P4, respectively, for tomorrow’s race. They will surely have a little battle of their own as the lights go out on Sunday.
