“Don’t Drink Out of His Shoe!”: Horner Echoes Iconic Max Verstappen-Daniel Ricciardo F1 Moment in Hilarious Radio Exchange

Red Bull dominated the Sprint weekend in the backyard of Ferrari. The Austrian team was untouchable throughout the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as Max Verstappen in Sergio Perez brought home a long-awaited 1-2 for the team.

This is the first 1-2 for the team since the 2016 Malaysian GP where Daniel Ricciardo led home Verstappen in the race. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner referred to that event while congratulating Max on the race win.

Horner mentioned Verstappen should avoid drinking champagne from Perez’s shoes as he did from Ricciardo’s in Malaysia. “First 1-2 since you and Daniel!” said Horner. “ Yeah, it took a while, but Checo did a great job,” said Verstappen.

” Just don’t drink out of his shoe,” said Christian.

“This kind of thing is always difficult to achieve. But Friday and Saturday we were fine, and it looked like it could be a strong weekend. Today, we didn’t know exactly how competitive we could be because of the weather. But I think we did a good job as a team and we deserve the double,” said Verstappen.
