PSG want Zidane over Conte despite Tottenham manager ‘offering himself’ as replacement for Pochettino

They came just a day after Poch’s side reclaimed the Ligue 1 title from Lille with a 1-1 draw with Lens.

But PSG’s supporters turned on the manager and players after they were dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.

And Poch was even booed by his own fans at Parc des Princes on the night they were crowned champs.

Conte is believed to have made the club’s hierarchy aware that he is keen on taking charge on a two-year deal.

However, The Times are claiming that even though they will listen to what the Italian has to say, it is Zidane who remains their No.1 target.

The French legend has been out of work since leaving his second stint in charge of Real Madrid last summer.

The 49-year-old led the Spanish giants to three Champions League successes and two titles during his time at the helm.

And now PSG hope to convince him to join them instead of waiting out for the French national team role.

This latest report also suggested that Spurs could bring Pochettino back – despite sacking him in November 2019.

After sealing the league at the weekend, Poch said: “People shouldn’t underestimate winning the Ligue 1 title.

“There is a disappointment when there’s no European Cup at the end of a season, but there hasn’t been one in 50 years of [this club’s] existence.”
