Greg Norman Reveals How Jack Nicklaus Helped Him Win His First Major Championship

Greg Norman is making the headlines for his LIV Golf Invitational league. Notably, the former tour pro has won two major championships in his career. One of which came courtesy of the legendary Jack Nicklaus. He gave Greg a piece of advice before the final round that helped Norman clinch his first-ever major victory.

Jack Nicklaus was dominating the golfing world along with Gary Player and Arnold Palmer at that time. As for Greg Norman, he was competing on the tour but was always struggling to win a major championship. However, in 1986, at the Open Championship in Turnberry Golf Resort, Scotland, Norman was in contention after three rounds.

The conditions were daunting, and hence, Greg, who was leading the event, had a score of +1 for the event. But with strenuous conditions, it was going to be a tough ask for the Australian, who had never won a major championship before. However, Jack calmed him and gave him valuable advice that helped Norman to win the Open Championship.
