I’ve done up my whole council house on a budget – I’ve made it look so posh even though I hardly spent anything
REVOVATING an entire house can be ridiculously expensive.
With so much work to do it can take ages to save up all the money to do it right.

But there are corners you can cut to make your home look posh of you’re on a tight budget.
That’s exactly what Nick Richards did to the council house he lives in with his mum, and it ended up looking so good he shared a full house tour on his YouTube channel.
Cutting corners doesn’t have to mean it’s a shoddy job and Nick’s home proves just that.
Starting with the kitchen, the DIY whizz knew he had to stick to a strict budget so had to get creative with the makeover process.

“We had really dark walnut cabinets, cream speckled counters and cream tiles and it just looked really old fashioned” he shared.
Spending just £200 he was able to bring it right up to date using white stick on vinyl covers onto the drab doors and cupboards, which made it look much more modern.
A wooden style vinyl was also applied to the worktop to hide the old speckled one that was dating the kitchen.
The savvy saver also only spent £200 on the flawless dining room makeover.

With a little time and effort – and a lot of paint – Nick transformed the drab dining room in to a social space where he can work and enjoy meal times with his family.
“The main focus of the room is the table , which only cost us £30 to make,” he confessed.
After buying table legs from Ikea for £20, Nick added them on the top of the old table, and finished it off with more vinyl stickers, which he nabbed from Amazon, to make it look brand new.
Nick saved loads of money by installing a posh gallery wall, but he only paid for the frames and used wallpaper samples from B&Q as art.
He said: “I just put them in black frames and it’s such a nice alterative to spending so much money on new prints.”
Nick managed to massively update his bedroom with a lick of paint.
Adding a dark boarder the the lower half of the room made it feel much cosier and masculine.
He also chucked out the clothes rail he was using and bought a a cheap Ikea wardrobe but added leather handles from Amazon to customise it a bit.
“I wanted to give my mum’s room a makeover as a bit of a Christmas present for her.
“This room was really dark and dingy, but now it’s a really light and bright space.”
The yellow and grey colour theme was tied together with small accessories from Amazon, including pillows, matching lamps and a throw.
Lastly, Nick took to redoing the bathroom.
The old tiles really dated the room, but completely changing them would be pretty pricey.
“There’s not a lot we could do to this room,” he confessed.
But nonetheless he managed to upgrade it for only £120.
He covered the blue tiles for white stickers for a more cohesive look and painted over the blue walls for a brighter finish.
People loved the cheap hacks too: “Looks great you have worked so hard on transforming the place on a budget.”
