“Too Small”: Ja Morant Mocks Pat Beverley In A Back To Back Play Sequence During Grizzlies vs Timberwolves

Ja Morant was unbeatable today against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the latter 111-109. This was a big victory for the Grizzlies who are now just one win away from booking their spot in the second round after taking a 3-2 lead in the series.

He nearly had a triple-double in the win, too, with 30 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists on the night. A closely fought series is never short in trash talk and fireworks.

This game was not short in fireworks with Morant exchanging jabs with fiery Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley. PatBev has been hitting Morant with the “too small” celebration for pretty much the entire series. Hence, the Grizzlies superstar made sure to get his revenge on Tuesday night.

This time again, he did it too while scoring. Morant did not leave it be as he scored from a play to give the same back to Beverley. The Most Improved Player turned out to be the Most Valuable Player for his team when it came to this game.

Ja Morant and the Grizzlies

The Grizzlies took a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference first-round series at FedEx Forum, thanks to 30 points from Morant. 18 of them in the fourth quarter including a left-handed layup with one second left on the clock against Jarred Vanderbilt. The latter had to simply look at Ja’s layup with awe.

Memphis was down by as many as 11 points in the fourth period. Morant put up a level that he had not done in the entire postseason. The All-Star’s motivation came in the last play of the third quarter. A wonderful dunk, which is already one of the best plays of the playoffs in the NBA.

Other than Morant, Desmond Bane added 25 points and a technical foul for pushing opposing coach Chris Finch in the second quarter, while Brandon Clarke added 21 points.

As for Minnesota’s losing cause, the leading scorer was Dominican center Karl-Anthony Towns, who registered 28 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Edwards generated 22 points.

Minnesota’s next game will be against the Grizzlies on March 29. They will have to win that game to keep parity.

Will Memphis close the series? Will the Timberwolves come back? The next two games will be thrilling to see, in any case.
