My cute Pandora rings were looking a little rough… a cheap 5p hack made them as sparkly as new
A WOMAN has gone viral after revealing a cheap hack to make rings look brand new using just two ingredients sitting in your kitchen.
Nothing is as upsetting as finding your favourite once-so-shiny ring looking a bit rough – but fear not, there is no need to throw it out, as a savvy jewellery fan has found a solution.
The hack video was liked by thousands on social mediaTikTok/@emmarararara
A little baking soda will do the trick, Emma claimedTikTok/@emmarararara
Taking it to social media, the TikTok user Emma (@emmarararara) claimed that this is a hack that people ”need to know”.
Showing off her multiple 925 sterling silver rings from Pandora, the whizz said that following her method will make your jewellery go ”from dull to shiny”.
The trick, she also added, works with anything, necklaces and earrings included, and costs next to nothing.
To give your rough-looking rings a makeover, place a small sheet of kitchen foil in a bowl and put all the accessories on top of it.

Once ready, pour a generous amount of baking soda – this should be enough to almost cover your rings and other jewellery pieces.
”Boil the kettle, pour the boiling water directly over the top of your jewellery and let the bubbles work their magic,” Emma said.
”Wait for the bubbles to slow down or eventually come to a stop and take your jewellery out.”
But here, the whizz warned, make sure to be careful, as the water will still be boiling hot.

When all the pieces are no longer marinating in the water-baking soda mixture, rinse them under a tap to get rid of any leftover baking soda.
”And there you have it – your jewellery is lovely, shiny, sparkly,” Emma said, adding that this is ”definitely worth trying”.

But whilst she swore by this hack, not everyone was convinced, as a few Pandora employees urged people to not follow her tips.
”please dont do this. they do free cleaning at the stores, just take them and get them professionally cleaned [sic],” begged one.
Another agreed, writing: ”I work at pandora and the best way is to soak it in warm soapy water and scrub gently with a toothbrush! Use our polishing cloth, it’s how we do it! [sic]”
A person who had tried the trick left a negative review reading: ”i did this with my pandora earrings and they went black rip [sic].”

Some suggested other methods, for instance, a hygiene product in your bathroom.
”I cover mine in toothpaste leave for a while and rinse ; they come up so shiny,” claimed a viewer.
