Tampa Bay Buccaneers Create Sly Way to Bring in More Money By Leveraging Tom Brady’s Retirement

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ management surely heard ticket machines booming in their heads. Tom Brady backed out of his retirement announcement last week. The return of Tom Brady for one more campaign has re-energized ticket sales, both online and at the box office. However, the team is ensuring that they tie up new buyers in beyond 2022.

The comeback of Brady has solved the Bucs quarterback situation. Rather than trying to replace them with a rookie quarterback. They resurrected as a title contender with one of the most successful players in the NFL. To get a good glimpse of the most iconic quarterbacks of the NFL, the fans would thunder into the Raymond James Stadium to attend the home games.

The Buccaneers are now mandating new season pass holders to make purchases for two seasons. This is happening for the first time in the franchise’s history. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs are asking new season-ticket holders to sign up for the next two seasons. Those purchasing these seats will pray that Brady returns for much over than just one season.

Bucs provides a notification letter to fans on the waiting list. It mentions that “Based on overwhelming demand and limited inventory, all-new Season Pass Memberships for 2022 will be required to sign up for a 2-year commitment.”

Not only that, but those purchasing season tickets in the lower bowl of Raymond James Stadium have to even provide proof of Florida ID that fits the personally identifiable information with their ticket account, according to Stroud, in order to prevent opposition team fans from obtaining the best seats in the stadium.

Will the Pewter Pirates buy the Bucs’ strategy?

While it may not appear fair and is a tough request in an economy grappling with inflation, the franchisee seemed to leverage the Tom Brady era to its maximum. Consequently, they are making such high demands from loyal fans.

Furthermore, for those that were wondering if Tom Brady would play when he is 50, the player’s choice looks questionable. Even though Brady looks in his prime at such an age, a commitment for the 2023 season can be doubtful. The Buccaneers are now interested in making a profit. They’re also using what they consider being sound strategic judgment.
