‘These are really flattering’ M&S fans rave over denim shorts that are a perfect match ‘if you’re curvy’

FINDING a pair of denim shorts if you’re more on the curvy side can be a nightmare, especially if you don’t want to spend a fortune.

Luckily, the high street retailer Marks & Spencer has come to rescue yet again with their Denim Pleat Front Belted Shorts that are both affordable and flattering.

Marks & SpencerAvailable in sizes UK 6 to UK 24, these M&S shorts have already become a major hit amongst shoppers[/caption]

The summer wardrobe essential, which sells for £32.50, comes in three different shades, and plenty of sizes, ranging from UK 6 to UK 24.

Perfect with a basic vest top for a casual daytime ensemble, or dressed up with a pair heels and a blouse, these versatile shorts offer a number of styling options – and they’re a classic that will never go out of style.

The design features a flattering paper bag shape, with a stylish D-ring belt on the high waist.

Meanwhile, the subtle pleat detailing on the front adds a tailored touch, making them look more chic than the price tag.

A neat button-and-zip fastening and two side pockets complete the look, whilst also being practical for storing any smaller essentials, such as your keys or a lippy.

Boasting an impressive rating of 4.9/5, it comes as no surprise fashionistas are bagging them in every colour, whether it’s ecru, light indigo or dark indigo.

I have a small waist and ample bum and these are really flattering

One delighted customer who described the shorts as ‘‘a wardrobe staple” said: “Stylish shorts made from good quality denim.

”These look good with everything and are a useful addition to my summer wardrobe.”

Another chimed in: “Bought for a city trip. Love denim shorts as they are so versatile.

”These are slightly longer in length than my usual denim shorts, but perfect for day time city break or adding a jacket or smart top for evening.

”Imagine they will be stable in my wardrobe for some time.”

Someone else also left a rave review, writing: “These shorts are a great fit if you’re curvy.

”I have a small waist and ample bum and these are really flattering.

”I’m between a 10 and 12 and bought a 10 which is comfortably loose and fits well everywhere.”

Jeans are a wardrobe staple for everyone, but do the supermarket brands compare to the iconic Levi’s?

Fabulous‘ Deputy Fashion Editor, Abby McHale tested four styles and compared them , here’s her verdict…
“As a teenager, I lived in Topshop’s Joni skinny jeans and I got my first pair of Levi’s when I was in my early twenties.
But now, nearing 30, I love nothing more than supermarket jeans. They are great value and really comfortable. They also last well, which my £100 Levi’s didn’t (so much for them staying good for ever).
But while I am a convert to supermarket denim, how well do pairs compare with those at high-end, high street stores?
Here I compare a series of styles, from skinny and straight to cargo and wide leg, and give my verdict and ratings.

Bleached Wide Leg, F&F at Tesco, £22.50 – 5/5
Skinny, George at Asda, £17 – 3/5
Cargo, M&S, £45 – 4/5
Straight Leg, Tu at Sainsbury’s, £20 – 4/5

I knew there was a reason why I loved supermarket jeans so much and I don’t think this comparison test has changed that much. And with some of the styles, it is really hard to spot the difference.
Sainsbury’s Straight Leg jeans are a Levi’s dupe but cost £20 instead of £100!”

“I love these shorts, very flattering design. Need a t-shirt tucked in but looks good!” another couldn’t get over the fit.

However, if you’ve got a holiday coming up and you’d like to treat yourself to a pair, it’s best to head to the shops now, as some sizes have completely sold out depending on which colour you opt for.

Despite plenty of gleaming reviews, one shopper was disappointed with the fit, writing: “Nice shorts but the fit wasn’t right.

”I usually wear size 12 M&S and these were too tight across my stomach.”
