I’m a size 16 with 38E boobs but tried and tested the viral Primark LBD to see if really is the ‘perfect party dress’

IT’S the dress of the season, and is sure to be seen on many a dancefloor at Christmas parties this year.

And after seeing her entire FYP filled with women showcasing the £20 black dress, Liz decided to head to her local Primark to try it on herself and see how it looked on her curvier frame.

“On the hanger vs on my size 16 body,” Liz wrote over the top of the TikTok video.

She then showed herself wearing the black dress, which features a tight top, low back, puffball skirt and large bow on the back and has a very festive feel about it.

And Liz – who shares her midsize fashion tips on both TikTok and Instagram – needn’t have worried, as the showed the LBD looked stunning on.

“The £20 party dress we all love! Run to Primark!” she captioned the video.

People quickly took to the comments section to bombard Liz with questions, with one asking: “Is it true to size?”

“I am 16 and got a 16 – boobs are 38E if that helps,” Liz replied.

“Any tall ladies have this? it looks short,” another questioned.

“Me! I’m 5’9,” Liz said.

“The fit of this dress is unreal but I found it so short on me and I’m only 5’8!” a third commented.

“Maybe add 15 denier tights?” Liz suggested.

“It’s not made for short people, the straps kept falling down on me,” someone else sighed.

“I am a size 14/16 I had to get 20!!! I’ve seen people say similar,” another wrote.

With Liz replying: “Oh no way! I think it all depends on shape and comfort.”

“I loved it on me but I need to wear a bra (and find strapless/backless ones never work for me) and it just didn’t work,” someone else said.

“So pretty though!”

“People are trying to resell on Vinted for £35,” another added.

Why is Primark the place to go to for bargains?

JUST how does Primark do it? Continue delivering on-trend items at such incredible prices? According to bosses, it’s down to four points.

They “sell a lot of items” – Thanks to that, they are able to make savings by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
They “do very little advertising”
While their clothes offer the “latest trends”, they “don’t use expensive hangers, tags or labels”.
And lastly, they try to be “as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores”. This includes things like asking “suppliers to pack our t-shirts so they are ready to go straight on shelf”.

“I’m nowhere near a primark any time soon!”

And others were quick to praise Liz, insisting the dress was “made for” her.

“10000% looks better on you than on the model,” one wrote.

“It was made for you!!!!” another said.

“Looks amazing – absolutely stunning in your body shape,” a third gushed.

“You rock that dress!!!”

“I’ve got this dress hanging in my wardrobe jus waiting for a party!” someone else admitted.
