Mark Dolan has been let go from GB News after three years working on the channel.

He unexpectedly released a comment, informing fans that he’d already presenting his last show.

Taking to X, Dolan, 50, wrote: ‘STATEMENT GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel I will speak publicly about this in due course.’

The presenter, comedian and writer previously teased that he would be making a statement.

‘SOME NEWS I’ve hosted my last MARK DOLAN TONIGHT on GB News More to follow…’ he wrote on the social media platform, before providing the further detail an hour later.

Dolan began working on the news channel in 2021 after leaving a job at talkRADIO. He initially started out by presenting Mark Dolan Tonight between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday and Sunday evenings. When Patrick Christys took over in November, he moved to Friday Night Live, between 9.30pm and 10pm.

Reacting to the news, former guest Madeline Grant wrote: ‘Very sad to hear this Mark. Wishing you all the best – it was always a joy to go on your show xx.’

Colleague Emily Carver added: ‘Really sad to hear you’re leaving.’

‘A horrible time of year to lose a job,’ weighed in spoof account Larry the Cat, with Dolan responding with a kiss face emoji. Viewer Andrew Devine shared: ‘Another one of my favourite presenters on GB news gone. Good luck in your new endeavours.’

When Dolan joined GB News just one month after the channel launch, he vowed to keep things interesting.

‘My one promise is that it won’t be boring.’
