Ryan Reynolds joined celebrity football fans hailing Argentina’s win against France as ‘the greatest ever’ World Cup ever.

In quite possibly the most intense game yet, Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria scored to put Argentina 2-0 up at the half-hour mark, with Kylian Mbappe scoring a sensational hat-trick.

After both teams drew 3-3, the game went to penalties with Argentina winning the shoot-out 4-2.

Following the spectacular win, the likes of Piers Morgan and Dan Walker congratulated the Argentina captain and his squad.

Deadpool legend Reynolds enthused: ‘My god, #FIFAWorldCup. This game is a gorgeous, evil curse. I love it so much make it stop.’

TalkTV broadcaster Morgan declared: ‘Greatest ever World Cup Final in the greatest ever World Cup. Utterly thrilling. What an advert for the beautiful game.’
